There are thousands of article directory sites out there now however and competition is fierce. You should perhaps consider setting up a niche article directory on a particular subject, so that you can dominate that niche market.

The final type of site you could create also involves profiting from content your visitors submit. Setting up a forum can be very profitable, especially as you can build a relationship with your website visitors and they are more likely to purchase or click on something you recommend.

These four methods of building niche websites can prove to be very profitable in creating regular and explosive streams of adsense and affiliate income and the best part of this system is that you can make money even if you don't work on your sites for weeks or months on many occasions.

Because you can include a resource box with each article, where you can provide a link to your site, you can generate significant traffic from people clicking this link to find out more about you and your website. For greater distribution you can even approach website owners and ezine publishers directly to offer them your articles.

Another form of content that you can produce relatively easily, that can be passed around virally, are free reports and ebooks. Again by creating good content, placing links to your site within the content, and offering giveaway rights, you can effectively see your work being shared all over the internet as people offer it to their list, offer it as a bonus to a paid product, upload it to a forum, etc.

To create an even greater viral effect, you can make parts of the content rebrandable. For example, by placing affiliate links within your content, and stating that the recipient of the report can change these affiliate links to their own, there is a greater incentive for them to pass on the report to others.

Another way of creating a viral effect with your reports or ebooks is by not making the product free, but instead offering master resale rights to the product. This is also very effective because people can actually profit from selling as many copies of your work as possible.

The last point I want to make relates to the actual website that you are trying to drive traffic to. You should try and make your website as compelling and unique as possible so people will gladly talk about your site on forums, blogs, and social networking sites. Don't be afraid to be different or do things that other websites aren't doing because this is what will make people talk about your site and share it with other people.

Let me give you a case in point. One of my niche websites talks about tips and strategies for winning on betting exchanges. I was a full-time trader on the exchanges for four years so I know quite a lot about this area. Anyway, instead of selling this information in the form of an ebook, like many marketers are doing, I gave away this information for free on my site.

This had a dramatic viral effect because although I have promoted the site to some extent, the vast majority of my traffic (around 400 visitors per day) comes from other people talking about my site on forums, discussion boards, and social networking sites. Therefore this means I have a constant supply of traffic to my site with no additional effort needed from myself. I simply cash the cheques from the strategically placed affiliate links on my site.

So to conclude, if you haven't yet considered viral marketing as a way of driving traffic to your site, then you should seriously start considering it. It's one of the most underused but effective ways of driving traffic to your site.

Maybe you have seen them at the bottom of website pages, those cute little graphic tables with arrows pointing you in different directions. Or, if you are a frequent blog reader, you may see a more streamlined code of carats and plus signs indicating a jumping point for you to try. These bits of code are known as webrings, and have been used for years as a promotion tool for websites. While webrings enjoy some degree of popularity among specific sites, whether or not they are an effective promotion tool can be debated.

The original purpose of the webring was to connect, by a special code, a group of websites with similar content. For example, sites dedicated to baseball could each have the code placed on a main page, allowing visitors to jump from site to site seamlessly via the code links. If applied correctly by each participating site, a visitor could circumnavigate the roster of themed sites, all the way around and back again, like a ring. At present, there are two major webring databases at Webring.com (which was once acquired, and later dumped, by Yahoo) and Ringsurf.com. While there exist other webring resources, these two provide the most traffic and brand recognition.

As for whether or not involvement in a webring will increase traffic to your site, there are pros and cons to joining:

Pros

Involvement in a webring may bring new visitors to your site, who in turn could become regular visitors or provide referrals

A listing on a webring directory may improve link popularity if linked from a quality ring or site

Research into a webring offers you information on similar websites with which your site could form a linking relationship outside the ring, thereby increasing your chances of link popularity.

Cons

Some webrings may require a specific HTML code, which may compromise the design and structure of your website

Some webrings are not well-maintained, started by a well-meaning ring owner who lost interest. When sites fold and the ring doesn't update, there results a number of broken links that will frustrate a Web user.

Some webrings may hold thousands of sites, causing yours to be lost in the crowd.

Site owners looking for methods to increase visibility and traffic may wish to consider joining a webring only if it is actively managed and features code that will not compromise site design or structure. With regards to SEO, however, the time is better spent improving the site with solid, relevant content and establishing direct linking relationships with companion websites.

Oliver Letwin, the Dorset West MP, in a speech to the Centre for Policy Studies quoted figures of over 400million pounds having already been paid out in 2003 by the NHS in compensation for clinical negligence claims with a further 5billion pounds more in cases waiting to be settled. This is a huge demand on the already thinning resources our National Health Service relies upon.

Recently it has been suggested that legal aid be removed as an option for those seeking compensation for clinical negligence to be replaced by solicitor's no win, no fee arrangements. This will place the burden of paying for fraudulent and "time-wasting" claims on the shoulders of the solicitors themselves who up till now have been receiving nearly 40% of the total compensation costs the NHS is struggling to find.

More dramatic, though, is the recent draft produced by Health Minister Rosie Winterton for a new, expanded NHS Injury Costs Recovery (ICR) scheme. Meaning the NHS can recover the costs of treating a patient who has made a successful compensation claims.

For years hospitals have been able to recover the costs of treating people injured in road traffic accidents where the injured party has successfully claimed compensation for their injuries. Within the past five years the NHS has recovered on average around 150million per year from third party insurance companies. The move to expand the current Injury Costs Recovery scheme is estimated to recover an additional 150million pounds per year to cover the treatment of those who were injured due to someone's negligence in any type of personal injury claim.

The Health Minister stated: "This policy will encourage employers to take steps to prevent employees being injured and when implemented should increase the total recouped each year to around 250million pounds for the NHS - equivalent to 53,000 hip operations and 11,000 newly qualified nurses ... It is unacceptable that taxpayers have to pay for the medical treatment of someone injured at work simply because employers fail to take adequate steps to protect their workforce. Individual hospitals will now be able to recover the costs and decide where they want to reinvest that money to improve services they want."

In response to this a spokesperson for the Institute of Directors said: "Businesses pay tax which pays for the NHS, so why should it pay again for treatment? In road accidents it is normally someone's fault but it is not so clear cut with personal injury. It could mean that businesses are left fighting costly and lengthy battles against claims. That may just be too much for some, especially small businesses."

But despite these concerns TUC General Secretary, Brendan Barber stated: "We welcome this consultation. It is important that negligent employers pay the full cost of their actions rather than expecting the taxpayers to subsidise their failures to protect workers. However it important that this is not just seen as another cost to be added to insurance premiums and instead is used by the insurance industry as an incentive to improve the measures that employers take to prevent injuries at work."

The stiff regulations self-imposed on motor insurance policies by insurance firms has always been lacking in other areas. Whereas a motor insurance customer will have to declare age, current employment, years holding a license, any previous accidents, yearly mileage, motoring convictions, registration number, type of license, other users of the car, any other cars owned plus a multitude of other questions - public liability insurances consist of much less confirmation. Hopefully this move will be more of a wake-up call for insurance companies than another reason for them to push up premiums. Sadly the The Association of British Insurers are not convinced that insurance firms will respond in the way hoped for by the Health Minister, predicting the scheme would force insurance premiums up by 8%.

The Law Commission felt the move would encourage employers, public authorities and others with responsibility for the health and safety of others to take those responsibilities more seriously and improve their health and safety practices. More than 75% of those who responded to the Law Commission's consultation on expanding the Road Traffic Accident scheme to cover all cases of personal injury in 1996 agreed with the Commission that the NHS should be able to recover its costs from the insurance of the individual(s) responsible for the injuries it had to treat.

Now what you can do is pull out this mini-ebook idea and write a complete article on its own.

Here's how to do it. The very first thing you can do is start writing your article body in point format in a step by step sequence. Start writing whatever you know with complete speed, just pour everything out of your brain.

In our previous example, I will start introducing the power of information products in an internet business.

Then I will introduce the concept of mini-ebooks and how it can be used as a free bait to collect leads.

Then I will move on to introducing the viral power of mini-ebooks and then how to brand ebooks to make them viral and distribute them.

So just one idea about a mini-ebook turned into a complete article on its own. And yes you are always free to use google to research more about mini-ebooks if you are in need of more ideas. You will be flooded with ideas if you use google to do your research.

Once you have poured from your brain everything that you know about mini-ebooks, the second step by need to do is write a short intro paragraph at the beginning of the article and a closure at the end. This is known as header and footer of your article.

This step will get extremely easy as you have written the body of the article after doing a thorough research.

Now the last step is to write your article headline in an exciting and benefit laden style. In our above example you could write a headline like this...

Step 3 - Submit the Article to Your Website.

What most website owners do is that they create an articles page on their website and just jumble up all their articles in one page.

What I do is that I arrange my articles in different categories and in a step by step tutorial format. This makes my visitors really excited to check out articles as they present a killer step by step tutorial where they can get quality no cost information related to a particular theme.

Make sure you do this and then promote your tutorial page and you will see your site traffic and repeat visitor traffic explode.

STOP! If you are thinking that I am advising you to submit your articles in forums, please donot do this unless the forums allow you to submit your articles.

Most of the high traffic forums will not allow you to submit your articles directly into the post. And if you do it you will be cosidered as a spammer and spoil your reputation on the way.

Here's a trick that I use. For example: I have written an article that shows how to promote articles.

Now I visit a forum and I see that someone has asked for help on this same topic. What I will do is copy some relevant content from my article and then I paste it in my post.

The forum members will think that I have personally written a quality post to help the person but all I have done is converted my article content to a relevant answer to the question.

So make sure you donot paste the article directly. Rather copy some of your relevant article content and then convert it into a userful solution for the member. You will earn respect and credibility by doing this.

Among private label products, one of the most profitable is the E-book. In the past, marketers purchase resell rights from an e-book author, and resell the text of the material as it is. This strategy works to the advantage of the authors, because their works can be sold with the content intact, and not being compromised. Plus, many of these e-books contain links to products that the author has interest in. The result is that the seller of the e-book will double as the author's marketing agent, because in each sale of the book, the affiliate links that it contains are exposed to each customer.

Recently, however, a new kind of resell rights became increasingly popular among marketers. They not only purchase the rights to sell the book, they also obtain the rights to do whatever they want with it, then sell it. Essentially, they edit, modify, rearrange, or change the contents of the books to suit their needs without being held liable. This allows the reseller to create new unique products from the material which is specially designed to suit the customers of the reseller.

Usually, the e-books that are being resold under Private Label Rights are specially commissioned and have ghostwriters as authors. These works are usually basic texts that is geared to a specific market, but they are not the type that will win literary awards or climb bestseller lists. But it does not mean that these books are not worth a lot. Actually, they fill the need of niche markets because they are written specifically for them. They can gain a lot profit if the reseller manages to aim it at the correct target market.

What can a reseller do to maximize a private label e-book that he acquired?

A lot of things, actually.

With a little ingenuity, a reseller could end up offering a book to customers that they will not find elsewhere. Title III of the ADA was intended to remove barriers and make places of public accommodation for all type of individuals with disabilities and not just those that are wheel chair bound. The primary focus under the ADA is persons with physical disabilities and includes a very broad range of disabled individuals.

The congressional committee reports and the Justice Department look to a comparison between a disabled person and an average person. The Justice states that a person with a disability is one whose important life activities are restricted as to the conditions, manner, or duration under which they can be performed in comparison with most people.

The ADA statute defines disability as follows:

The term "disability" means, with respect to an individual:

(A) a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits
one or more of the major life activities of such individual;

(B) a record of such an impairment; or

(C) being regarded as having such an impairment.

The definition is obviously overbroad and appears to set no limitations other than it limits or impairs one or more major life activities. The Justice Department which is charged with interpreting the ADA gives further definition about what is a disability. The just department interprets the phrase "physical or mental impairment" as meaning as follows:

(i) Any physiological disorder or condition, cosmetic disfigurement, or anatomical loss affecting one or more of the following body systems: neurological; musculoskeletal; special sense organs; respiratory, including speech organs; cardiovascular; reproductive; digestive; genitourinary; hemic and lymphatic; skin; and endocrine;

(ii) Any mental or psychological disorder such as mental retardation, organic brain syndrome, emotional or mental illness, and specific learning disabilities;

(iii) The phrase physical or mental impairment includes, but is not limited to, such contagious and noncontagious diseases and conditions as orthopedic, visual, speech, and hearing impairments, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, mental retardation, emotional illness, specific learning disabilities, HIV disease (whether symptomatic or asymptomatic), tuberculosis, drug addiction, and alcoholism;

(iv) The phrase physical or mental impairment does not include homosexuality or bisexuality.

The Justice Department provides further definition and defines major life activities. For purposes of the ADA in public accessibility, the phrase "major life activities" means functions such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, and working.

The Justice Department then defines the phrase "has a record of such an impairment" means has a history of, or has been misclassified as having, a mental or physical impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

For purposes of the ADA Title III, per the Justice Department, the phrase "is regarded as having an impairment" means:

(i) Has a physical or mental impairment that does not substantially limit major life activities but that is treated by a private entity as constituting such a limitation;

(ii) Has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits major life activities only as a result of the attitudes of others toward such impairment; or

(iii) Has none of the impairments defined in paragraph (1) of this definition but is treated by a private entity as having such an impairment.

The Justice Department also specifically excludes various conditions as not covered under the ADA Title III as disabilities, specifically the following are excluded from the "term disability":

(i) Transvestism, transsexualism, pedophilia, exhibitionism, voyeurism, gender identity disorders not resulting from physical impairments, or other sexual behavior disorders;

(ii) Compulsive gambling, kleptomania, or pyromania; or

(iii) Psychoactive substance use disorders resulting from current illegal use of drugs.

Drug means a controlled substance, as defined in schedules I through V of section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812).a

Illegal use of drugs means the use of one or more drugs, the possession or distribution of which is unlawful under the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812). The term "illegal use of drugs'' does not include the use of a drug taken under supervision by a licensed health care professional, or other uses authorized by the Controlled Substances Act or other provisions of Federal law.

Individual with a disability means a person who has a disability. The term "individual with a disability'' does not include an individual who is currently engaging in the illegal use of drugs, when the private entity acts on the basis of such use.

Minor impairments are not disabilities, some specific impairments that are not included are infected finger, heartburn, simply myopia, left handedness, normal sensitivity to tobacco smoke, fear of heights, varicose veins, trick knee, crossed eyes, and usually being overweight.

Under California law landlords have to adhere to housing standards and must refrain from using self help. There are housing standards that if violated will deem the property untenantable, meaning it cannot be rented out.

The property is deemed untentantable, if it substantially lacks the following:

(1) Effective waterproofing and wether protection of the roof, walls, windows, and doors;

(2) gas facilities maintained in good working order;

(3) a water supply capable of producing hot and cold running water, and connected to a sewage disposal system;

(4) heating facilities maintained in good working order;

(5) Electrical lighting, maintained in good working order;

(6) the building, the grounds, appurtenances, and all areas under control of the landlord starting from the time of the commencement of the lease or rental agreement have to be kept clean, sanitary, free from all accumulations of debris, filth, rubbish, garbage, rodents, and vermin;

(7) an adequate number of appropriate receptacles for garbage and rubbish, in clean condition and good repair at the time of the commence of the lease or rental agreement, and the landlord is responsible for the clean condition and good repair of the receptacles under his or her control;

(8) floors, stairways maintained in good repair.

The landlord also has to be sure he complies with local ordinances and any remodeling has to comply with existing building codes.

A landlord of a dwelling cannot legally demand rent, collect rent, issue a notice of a rent increase, or issue a three day notice to pay rent or quit, if the property is untentable and:

(1) A public officer or employee who is responsible for the enforcement of any housing law, after inspecting the premises, has notified the landlord or the landlord's agent in writing of his or her obligations to abate the nuisance or repair the substandard conditions;

(2) The conditions have existed and have not been removed 35 days after notice was received from a public officer and the delay is not for good cause;

(3) and the conditions were not caused by an act of the tenant or the tenants failure to act.

A landlord that demands rent, collects rent, or issues a notice of rent increase, or issues a three day notice to pay or quit and the four conditions are present then the landlord liable to the tenant for the actual damages, plus special damages of no less than $100 and not more than $5,000.00. The prevailing party is also entitle to reasonable attorney fees and costs.

This does not mean that the tenant can cause these conditions and it does not mean that
the landlord is liable if the tenant chooses to live in substandard conditions. The landlord has no duty to repair a dilapidation if the tenant is in substantial violation of the following affirmative obligations:

(1) The tenant is obligated to keep that part of the premises which he occupies and uses clean and sanitary as the condition the premises permit;

(2) The tenant is required to properly dispose for his dwelling unit all rubbish, garbage and other waste , in a clean and sanitary manner;

(3) The tenant is obligated to refrain from giving permission to any person on the premises to willfully destroy, deface, damage, impair or remove any part fo the structure and the tenant also must refrain from doing such things;

(4) The tenant is obligated to occupy the premises as his abode, utilizing portions for living, sleeping, cooking or dining purposes only as the dwelling was designed and intended to be used.

These are the most basic requirements, but the list of obligations and responsibilities is much broader and imposes even more responsibilities on the landlord. What is shocking, is that a landlord is allowed to legally harass a tenant, even when the landlord has no viable claim and is in violation of the preceding. A landlord can initiate eviction proceedings and even evict a tenant, even if the landlord is in violation of the aforementioned housing violations. If the tenant is able to obtain counsel to represent the tenant the landlord can litigate the lawsuit and then on the day of trial simply dismiss the lawsuit.

If the landlord alleges a contract violation as the basis of the lawsuit, the landlord can dismiss the lawsuit at the very last minute and not incur any attorney fees or costs, because if there is an attorney fee provisions in the lease agreement there is no winner when the landlord voluntarily dismisses the case. It is a loophole that essentially encourages frivolous lawsuits. Under California law the landlord could bring a frivolous lawsuit several times and dismiss them just before trial after the tenant has exhausted thousands defending the lawsuit. This is how a landlord can harass a tenant legally.

It is not right, it is not fair, and certainly not just, but it is the result that was created by the State Legislature.
